The fabulous island of Kyushu is located at the south of Japan.

Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Japan Sea and the East China Sea, Kyushu has a population of around 13 million and is blessed with a mix of beautiful countryside and sophisticated cities.

The island of Kyushu consists of seven prefectures, Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki and Kagoshima. Each prefecture has its own personality and locations popular with tourists.

The Kyushu people are famous for their warm and open personalities and the Japanese hospitality is second to none; prepare to be amazed by their devotion to customer service.

Kyushu is a wonderful island, and a wonderful holiday destination, the warmth of its people, the ease of getting around; the amazing locations all combine to provide the perfect holiday destination.

The Japanese yen is used. You can exchange your currency into yen at any bank, as well as many hotels. However, it’s better to obtain Japanese yen prior to your visit.

It is sometimes difficult to communicate in any language other than Japanese. English is to some extent accepted at hotels, particularly those that cater to foreign tourists. However, the general level of English has improved and in most situations you’ll be able to make yourself understood using gestures! Of course that’s part of the fun of foreign travel.
